Wicked Lasers Question?

I love lasers, and really like the sheer power of the Spyder 3 Arctic, but it far too powerful for everyday use. I am consitering getting a Spyder 3 Arctic for burning purposes, but I also want a green laser I can use as a laser pointer. I am planning on getting the Core, because the E2 and E3 are simply too powerful for safely viewing. My question, is can you see the whole beam of the laser (like the green E2 and E3), or just where it hits (like red/traditional laser pointers)?
