What is causing my washing machine to leak?

I've had a similar problem and I think it could just be due to a dis-aligned washer-tub. Try sticking your hands down on the inside of your washer basin and try to move it around. If it moves, you could try to push it in a position where its more aligned with the top hole of your washer. this could help because if it gets pushed out of position water can leak out the side and then you get a nice big puddle-o-water at your feet.
