Does getting a white filling hurt any more than a sliver one?

I'm going to the dentist tomorrow and I am so nervous! My friend was complaining about how her white filling her so I was kind of freaking out. I've had silver ones, but they were baby teeth. I might just chicken out and get silver ones on these. What should I do?
