Rough idle and surging from cold start?

It just recently started where my car will, or will almost die from a cold start. Idling was sort of rough until I turned the idle speed up. Also from a cold start I get a lot of surging. It'll take off real sluggish then all the sudden it will fly like a bat out of hell. Any ideas? Spark plugs are new and I have replaced the MAF. Car is a 97 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder
