Use the digit 8, eight times to make it 1000. u can use all the basic mathematical operators.?

I am stuck upon this problem. And I am out of my mind trying this out. I make 1000, but I am able to do it using 8 only seven times. I would b really glad if someone could help me out. Use any mathematical operators like subtraction, addition, multiplication, division and make it 1000.
