Does Derick like Angie in trauma center?

in trauma center under the knife 2 it said at the end "derick continues to go on with his loved one by his side." and before that it said something about his friends going on with him too. and before that when they were on the plane angie said "I'll always be by your side." why did the ending only point out that his "loved" one was by his side. so does that mean he likes her? is there any other proof that you know to prove this theory? and you know what else i have noticed? derick is in all of the trauma games including the new one. hes the doctor that said dr. kimishima only had a year to live and at the on the final battle when they have to operator on her, they show the back of his head on the phone with one of the doctors explaining how to treat her.
