Will 1998 Spyder Eclipse be good for commute driving?

I am thinking about buying a 1998 Spyder Eclipse turbo/convertible. It has 160XXX miles on it. They guy says hes taken good care of it and so will I. He's asking 3500. I am in high school and will be using it for daily commute to school (20 miles there and back). Good buy or are these things known to die around this mileage? Thanks everyone
